The Environment of Batam Centre Port is Quiet, Ferry Operators Cancel Some Trips

TRIBUNBATAM.id - Batam Centre Port atmosphere, Tuesday (3/3/2020) looks deserted.

Usually, the port is often crowded because it serves passenger trips to and from Singapore and Malaysia.

Now, the port which is not far from the mayor's office looks so quiet.

Passengers and visitors are free to walk in the normally crowded port.

The quiet atmosphere was seen in the departure gate of ferry.

In the place that was originally used to check luggage and passenger tickets that were about to leave, it seemed that the unemployed officer had no activity.

The queue limiting model, which was deliberately snaking to accommodate the long queue, is now empty.

Similarly, the atmosphere at the arrival door.

There were only visible officers on guard without any passengers entering.

The port deserted, was recognized by one of ferry operator staff named Said Alwi.

According to Said, port activities have been quiet since some time ago.

"How many weeks has it been this quiet, even we (the crossing service company) have had to cancel five trips," said Said.
