DPRD Member of KEPRI Criticizes the Corona Virus Special Hospital Development on Galang Island

TRIBUNBATAM.id -  Placement for the construction of a Corona Virus Special Hospital in Sijantung District, Galang District, Batam, Riau Islands was criticized. Criticism came from the DPRD Kepri Province member, Uba Ingan Sigalingging.

He said the government seemed to impose the will to place the hospital building there. 

The Hanura politician said the government was more suited to placing the special hospital on the island. So, it does not interfere the surrounding community and also does not interfere the attractions of ex Camp Vietnam.

"First, we are concerned about the impact of this Corona virus. Actually, we are not rejecting it. But the location is not right. There is Sijantung Harbor and hundreds of people living around the site. Even one village was there. This is what makes us confused. What does the Grand design for Galang Island look like in the future, "he said, Monday (03/09/2020).

Uba rate, synchronization of communication between the central government and the provincial government is less established. Uba suggested, the central government must check and balance the location. Because, there are still many empty islands that are more feasible and far from residential areas.

"We are not refusing. Because this is for the long term. But the location on Galang Island is not right, preferably on uninhabited islands. So it does not become a terror for the general public," he said.
