The condition of raw water in the Duriangkang reservoir is receding and apprehensive. ATB has made various efforts in water treatment efficiency, in order to minimize the impact of the lack of raw water reserves in Batam City. However, the most important thing is the government's serious efforts in implementing raw water conservation.

TRIBUNBATAM.id - The threat of raw water crisis in Batam City makes a number of residents worried. Especially in the near future, rotational distribution will be carried out by PT Adhya Tirta Batam (ATB) to control water usage so that the stock does not run out soon.

Water rationing is planned to be implemented starting March 15, 2020.

As a manager, ATB can only do this to maintain water availability. However, according to ATB's Head of Corporate Secretary, Maria Jacobus, there is another way, namely by accelerating the transfer of raw water from Tembesi Dam to Mukakuning Dam.

Maria admitted, for the management of Tembesi Dam itself, ATB had followed the auction process. However, until now there has been no clarity regarding the auction winner.

According to Maria, for a temporary solution, ATB will maximize the treatment of raw water from three dams, namely Dam Duriangkang, Mukakuning, and Tanjungpiayu.

The three dams have different capacities. Duriangkang Dam as one of the largest dams is known to have a catchment area of 7,259.10 hectares.

Starting operating since 2001, the Dam has a production capacity of 2,710 liters per second.

Unfortunately, now Duriangkang Dam is known to experience a shrinkage of 3.06 meters.

Meanwhile, Mukakuning Dam has a water production capacity of 310 liters per second and Tanjungpiayu Dam at 200 liters per second. (Tribunbatam.id/Ichwan Nur Fadillah)
