TRIBUNBATAM.id, BATAM - Anticipating the spread of Corona virus (Covid-19) in Batam, Hang Nadim International Airport together with Batam Port Health Office (KKP) continues to check body temperature for all potential passengers who have arrived at Hang Nadim Airport.

Hang Nadim Airport Operations Manager, Harlas Buana said checking the body temperature at the front door of departure gate was done manually by Avsec Airport (Aviation Security) officers using a thermal gun.

This was done also at the airport arrival gate.

"We urge all passengers to wash their hands before entering the airport building and wearing masks," Harlas said.

If a passenger is found whose body temperature exceeds 38 degrees Celsius or with high body temperature, he will conduct an evaluation in a special room at the airport, coordinating with CTF and Covid-19 Handling Referral Hospital in Batam.

The airport has also provided other health support facilities, such as a hand sanitizer and a washing area in front of departure entrance.

"We advised passengers not to panic and to always follow airport staff instructions to check body temperature and pass a thermal detector as a preventative measure for the spread of Covid-19 in Batam," said Harlas Buana.
