Impact of Coronavirus, Christians in Anambas are sad, Forced to Celebrate Good Friday at Home

TRIBUNBATAM.id - This Good Friday moment looked different from the previous year. Christians in Anambas Islands Regency, were forced to commemorate the death of Isa Al Masih by live streaming in their homes.

The celebration of the holy week of Easter is divided into three sessions, including white Thursday, Good Friday and Easter night (Easter Sunday).

A Christian in Siantan Subdistrict, Rida, was sad at this year's celebration. 

"I can only celebrate Good Friday today by watching live streaming because watching it via YouTube," said Rida when met at her residence, Friday (10/4/2020). 

She said, the celebration of the Good Friday which is only celebrated once a year is very meaningful for her.

On Good Friday, they will hold a special banquet by providing bread and wine to eat together in the Church after the service. 

"Usually on this Good Friday we gather in the church for morning worship and evening worship in commemoration of the death of the Lord Jesus," she explained.

The woman from Medan, who migrated to Anambas, said that during the Easter celebration this year on Sunday (12/4), she would pass by just staying at home.

"It can't be helped, we all know that at this time the situation doesn't allow us to leave the house, so this is all I can do, watch YouTube and listen to hymns," she said.
