Having Comorbid Disease, Covid-19 Patient Number 10 in Batam Reportedly Died

TRIBUNBATAM.id, BATAM - Covid-19 patient number 10 in Batam reportedly dead after undergoing treatment at BP Batam Hospital, Tuesday (4/14/2020).

Head of Batam Health Department, Didi Kusmarjadi, who was contacted by TRIBUNBATAM.id, confirmed the death of a Covid-19 patient in case 10.

According to him, he has a history of heart disease and COPD and also has a history of traveling out of town one month ago.

The death of Covid-19 patient number 10 in Batam adds to the national death list due to  Corona virus.

64-year-old man had previously reportedly been in a weak health condition.

He is the husband of case 08 and father of case 09.

On 31 March 2020, the local medical center's team also conducted a rapid diagnostic test (RDT) to those concerned with the conclusion of "Reactive" results.

This is followed by a swab check that the results obtained are confirmed to be "Positive".

On April 8, 2020, he experienced complaints of left chest pain that did not spread, penetrated the back and experienced complaints shortness of breath and cough with phlegm.

Then those concerned by his family were taken to Batam RSBP ER.

After the emergency response is concerned the condition is improving and stable.

However, according to X-ray results, the examining physician concluded that there was an impression of "bronchopneumonia appearance" and was required to be hospitalized in the isolation treatment room / PIE Batam Hospital, condition is stable.

Government Spokesperson for Covid-19 Management Achmad Yurianto said the average patient who died was over 50 years old and had comorbid diseases.

"Most of those who died are mainly in the age group above 50 years and have comorbid diseases," Achmad Yurianto said at BNPB Office, East Jakarta, Monday (4/13/2020).

Achmad Yurianto said that these congenital diseases include high blood pressure, chronic diabetes, and tuberculosis (TB).
