Covid-19 Outbreak, Import Export Activities Remain Normal, BP Batam Issues 30 Permits In One Day

Noted, about 30 permits issued by BP Batam per day to support business activities in Batam.
Based on data obtained from the official website of Batam Goods Exit Information System (SIKMB) from January to March 2020, 205 documents were published for Business Licenses, 1,367 documents were issued for Goods Import Permit, 207 documents were issued for Goods Exit Permit, and 90 documents published for Recommendation Permit.
Director of Goods Traffic and Investment Services at BP Batam, Purnomo Andiantono, said that the demand for goods in and out of Batam is still normal, despite the spread of Covid-19.
"It's just that, because some countries have already done a lockdown, there is concern among entrepreneurs if the stock of raw materials runs out. Because if the countries supplying the lockdown of raw materials, can no longer import raw materials, "Andiantono said, Friday (4/17/2020).
As a solution, he advised entrepreneurs in Batam not to depend on just one country, and began exploring other supplying countries as sources of industrial raw materials.
