15,099 Workers from 309 Companies in Batam Affected by Covid-19, 598 Were Layoffs
15,099 workers from 309 companies in Batam City, Riau Islands Province were affected by Corona virus. 598 of them were laid off. Here are the details.
TRIBUNBATAM.id, BATAM - 15,099 workers from 309 companies in Batam City, Riau Islands Province were affected by Corona virus.
598 of them were affected by Termination of Employment (FLE).
This is based on data received by Manpower Department (Disnaker) Batam Tuesday (4/14/2020) until 11 noon.
"We continue to record companies and workers affected by Corona virus in Batam City by reporting via email that has been given to the company," said Head of Batam City Manpower Office, Rudi Syakyakirti, Tuesday (4/14/2020).
He revealed, as many as 9 companies temporarily closed.
Then 12 companies recorded layoffs.

Some of companies also reduced working hours to 9,015 people, laid off 2,644 employees, and 2,842 unpaid leave workers.
Rudi estimates that the number will continue to grow, because currently not all companies report the condition of their companies due to impact of Covid-19.
Batam City Manpower Office currently continues to collect data related to the number of workers and companies affected by Covid-19.
Previously there was a circular letter from Ministry of Manpower number M / 3 / HK.04 / III / 2020 related to worker protection and business continuity in the context of preventing Covid-19.
In the letter the procedure for taking options is taken through an agreement between the worker and the employer.
"So it's a deal. Because considering the sustainability of the business too. So don't let anyone lose, "he said.
Rudi assessed that this condition was experienced by all regions of Indonesia, even the world.
Because of Covid-19 outbreak several sectors were affected, let alone the tourism sector.
According to him, the number of affected employees may increase, because not all companies have reported their company data.
