TRIBUNBATAM.id, BATAM - The Head of the Batam Covid-19 Task Force for the Acceleration of Handling and who is also the Deputy Mayor of Batam, Amsakar Achmad said, at this time his party continued to increase vigilance and control operations against Batam residents who were still stubbornly gathering in coffee shops and going out without using masks and swarm. 

Even his party, together with a joint team of the Indonesian National Police, Satpol PP and BP Batam Ditpam did not hesitate to impose sanctions on the public or coffee shops or restaurants that still allow their visitors to gather or gather.

"Strict sanctions will be given, and if still continue to stubborn, we can freeze the permit temporarily," Amsakar Ahmad said by telephone on Wednesday (4/22/2020). 

Moreover, entering the holy month of Ramadan or the month of fasting, in addition to an appeal not to do tarawih prayers in mosques and prayer rooms in accordance with a circular letter from the Indonesian Ministry of Religion, in order to carry out Tarawih prayers in their respective homes.

Amsakar Ahmad also forbids Batam citizens from holding Ramadan markets or bazaars. Even iftar activities are also prohibited.

"And if it continues to be stubborn, get ready to receive sanctions," said Amsakar.

Amsakar also claimed to have instructed the subdistrict head and also the village head to monitor their respective areas and make a report to the enforcement team if there were still residents who wanted to establish the Ramadan bazaar.

Likewise with the centers of the crowd or where to eat, a coffee place that still serves consumers eating or drinking coffee on the spot to immediately make a report to the action team.

"In accordance with circulars, coffee shops, food stalls, it is not allowed to serve consumers to drink on the spot, all consumers, if they want to buy, must be wrapped, eat and drink in their respective homes. Likewise, the Ramadan bazaar is also prohibited, "said Amsakar. 

Furthermore, Amsakar said, for this year, he asked all parties, including traders, to jointly help the government fight the spread of the Covid-19 virus in Batam by always staying at their homes. 

He admitted that he understood very well the conditions of the Batam community at this time, especially entering the month of Ramadan and continued with Eid al-Fitr.

Because, at times like this, small traders usually make a decent profit and sell well. (*)
