The Riau Islands Caring Tourism Forum (FPKP) Provides Assistance for Tourism Workers in Riau Islands

The Riau Islands Caring Tourism Forum (FPKP) conducted sharing activities with Covid-19 affected tourism workers taking place at Batam Center (22/4).

TRIBUNBATAM.id  - The Riau Islands Caring Tourism Forum (FPKP) conducted sharing activities with Covid-19 affected tourism workers taking place at Batam Center (22/4). As many as 100 food packages distributed to tourism actors in the Riau Islands. 

The Head of the FPKP Coordinator, Irwandi Azwar said the activity that took place was the first step in the move of the Riau Islands tourism forum to help tourism practitioners. There were 100 food packages distributed consisting of rice, cooking oil, and eggs. 

"The staple food is distributed symbolically to the head of the tourism association. The food packages will later be distributed to the association members who have been recorded.
This is in order to support the social distancing program implemented by the government so that no crowd occurs, "he said.  

The Head of the Riau Islands Tourism Department, Buralimar appreciated the formation of the Riau Islands Caring Tourism Forum. Through this forum, it is expected to be able to contribute to lighten the burden of tourism workers in the Riau Islands affected by Covid-19. There are 16 associations that joined the FPKP.

"As a form of concern for tourism workers affected by Covid-19," he said. 

He said initial data were 3924 people affected. At present more data is being collected to be sent to the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy. Later it will be given in the form of groceries, rice, and ready-to-eat side dishes totaling 140 thousand per person.

"Today they are meeting to determine how much the quota is and will be delivered today. There will be three affected Tanjung Pinang, Bintan, Batam," he said.  

He said, this FPKP will continue until next year in an effort to assist the government in tackling Covid-19.

There are three mitigation steps, first the emergency response step until June, then Early June to December is called the recovery phase, and the normalization of 2021.
