Entering the Red Zone, Batam Residents perform Eid Al-Fitr Prayer at Home, Isdianto Create Circular

TRIBUNBATAM.id - Ad-interim Governor of the Riau Islands, Isdianto, released a circular related to the implementation of pray during the month of Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr 1441 H / 2020 in all districts/cities of the Riau Islands.

It has even been conveyed to the Regent / Mayor as Chairman of the District / City Covid-19 Coordination Handling Task Force. 

In the letter, it was emphasized to areas that were still in Covid-19 Red Zone status, not to pray in a congregation or gather at designated places. The Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) fatwa stipulates the provisions on the implementation of Eid prayer in the Covid-19 region. 

"The implementation is carried out in congregation in the fields, mosques, prayer rooms, or other places for Muslims. However, if it is included in the controlled area at the time of 1 Shawwal 1441 H, one of which is marked by transmission rates shows a declining trend and the policy of easing social activities that enable crowds to be based on credible and trustworthy experts," Ad-interim Governor Kepri, Isdianto said in the letter.

Including the implementation of Eid al-Fitr, both in the mosque and at home must continue to implement health protocols and prevent the potential for transmission, among others by shortening prayer readings and implementing sermons. 

And, based on the map of Covid-19 distribution area status in 282 regencies/cities in Indonesia obtained from the Indonesian Ministry of Health website on May 14, 2020, it is known that Batam and Tanjung Pinang are included in the red zone category of Covid-19 distribution.

Meanwhile, Karimun and Bintan are in the yellow zone, Natuna, Anambas, and Lingga are in the Green Zone. 

Meanwhile, in Regencies / Cities with the status of the Red Zone and Yellow Zone, the pray during Ramadan is still carried out from home, in accordance with the Indonesian Minister of Religion Circular. 

The letter was also discussed and as a reference in the coordination meeting of the Mayor of Batam related to the policy of implementing Eid along with religious leaders in the city of Batam. This meeting was held at the Main Stage of the Engku Puteri Plain, Friday (05/15/2020) morning until noon.
