Besides Gurun Pasir Telaga Biru, Bintan will Develop a Tourism Village

TRIBUNBATAM.id -  Busung Tourism Village is one of the community-based tours in Bintan, Riau Islands.  

This tourist spot is famous for the beauty of the Gurun Pasir Telaga Biru. Formerly, this area is a former sand mining. 

The former dug basin is now filled with rainwater which is then managed as a tourist spot by the local community. 

As it turns out, Busung Tourism Village is just one of several community-based tours that still needs to be developed. 

The Head of the Bintan Regency Tourism Department, Wan Rudy Iskandar, said that the potential for community-based tourism in Bintan was quite large. 

"We have tremendous potential. There is the Gurun Pasir Telaga Biru, micro development in tourist villages in Pengudang, "Rudy said in a webinar session with the Indonesian Ecotourism Network (Indecon) entitled" Community-Based Tourism Enterprises in Bintan in the Face of New Normal Conditions ", Tuesday (9 / 6/2020).

The coronavirus pandemic made them more focused on the further development stages to be ready to face the new normal era. 

Rudy said, if tourism movement is possible, the community-based tourism market will be more focused on the area around the Riau Islands.  

The Head of Asita Tanjungpinang and Bintan, Sapril Sembiring, said that there were a number of things that had to be done in order to advance community-based tourism, namely the existence of community training. 

The training in question includes, among others, tourism awareness campaigns that must be carried out consistently, making promotional videos, vlogging, and digital marketing techniques.

Sapril said, that tourists who come to the Busung Tourism Village, usually only visit for one to two hours. In fact, he continued, the place has very attractive tourism potential. 

Sapril also believes that, for community-based tourism to be looked at by tourists, the management must be able to promote pleasant tourism.

Pleasant tourism, he continued, can be achieved if health protocols are immediately made, so they can reopen jobs, and reduce the impact felt by small and medium businesses.

Indecon Founder and Director, Ary Suhandi, said that the development of tourism in the village does not only think about the economic side, but also resilience.

According to him, tourism is a business that certainly has risks. In order to anticipate tourism risks related to external factors, people's focus does not need to be 100 percent on tourism.
