The Effect of Artificial Rain, Today Some Areas in Batam Predicted to be Rainy All Day

Meteorology Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) Class I Meteorology Station Hang Nadim estimates that until afternoon Batam area will be rained.

TRIBUNBATAM.id, BATAM - For residents who will do outdoor activities, do not forget to prepare an umbrella or raincoat.

The reason is Meteorology Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) Class I Meteorology Station Hang Nadim estimates that from morning until afternoon, Batam area will be rained.

BMKG also issued early weather and waves warnings in Riau Islands region, Monday (6/22/2020).

BMKG Predictor Class I Hang Nadim Meteorological Station, Riza Juniarti said rain in Batam could potentially be accompanied by lightning.

"It has the potential to rain with moderate to heavy intensity which can be accompanied by lightning and strong winds at 06.15 WIB until 16.00 WIB," she said.

This was due to the high air humidity and wind (cycloneic) swirling around Natuna region causing an accumulation of air masses which increased the chance of forming rain clouds in Riau Islands region.

In addition, she said the rain could not be separated from the role of Weather Modification Technology (TMC) which involves a series of processes seeding clouds to artificial rain.

So there is a series of cloud seeding by TMC (Weather Modification Technology) from the Agency of Assessment and Application of Technology (BPPT) to reduce rain in Batam area.

"Artificial rain has coordinated with BMKG, we predict that in the next 3 days Batam will rain," she said.

She explained that at this time the wave conditions in Batam waters were still relatively stable ranging from 0.5 meters to 1 meter.

Also appealed, for road users to remain cautious.

"For fishermen and ship activities in the sea so that they can pay attention to weather conditions before conducting shipping activities. Don't forget to wear life jackets for safety," she advised. (Tribunbatam.id/Beres Lumbantobing)
