Being Second Best in Handling Pandemic, Babel Governor: Covid-19 Recovery Rate Reaches 83 Percent

TRIBUNBATAM.id - The Governor of the Bangka Belitung Islands Province (Babel) appreciated the election of Babel Province as the second best category for handling Covid-19. 

"The central government announced that Yogyakarta would be the first best, following Babel, Aceh and Gorontalo," he said in a meeting to accelerate the absorption of the 2020 Regional Budget and Expenditures (APBD) at the Bogor Presidential Palace on Wednesday (07/15/20).

Related to this, Erzaldi revealed, until now, Babel has managed to enter the green zone, even though Pangkal Pinang City is still a yellow zone.

"This is because the cure rate of Covid-19 in Bangka Belitung is the highest in Indonesia, which is around 83 percent," said Erzaldi as in his written statement. 

According to him, this good news indicates that the cooperation between the task force team, the local apparatus, the regional government and the community was going well.

"If this good cooperation can continue to run with discipline, then the wheels of the economy in Babel can continue to run normally," he continued.

In addition, he revealed, regional heads are also required to be good at controlling the wheels of development in their respective regions.

"President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) requested that in such a situation, regional heads can carry out crisis management in carrying out the wheels of government in this pandemic era," he said. 

In fact, to actualize this, Erzaldi admitted, President Jokowi invited regional heads to take extraordinary or unusual actions.
