Batam Residents, Don't Be Complacent With New Normal of Covid-19

TRIBUNBATAM.id, BATAM - Head of Market Division in Batam Industry and Trade Office ( Disperindag) Zulkarnain reminded market managers don't be complacent in New Normal era.

In Batam there are as many as 45 markets with various types, there are even hundreds of shocked markets that move around.

"So we urge market managers, to pay attention to health protocols," said Zulkarnain, Head of Market at Industry and Trade Office Batam, Sunday (07/26/2020).

Currently the corona virus outbreak still occurs in Batam.

"This market is one of the places that is always crowded with people, so we urge managers to not be complacent," said Zulkarnain.

He said the presence of traders exposed to the Corona virus in Tos 3000 and also the Fanindo Tanjunguncang Market, should be a lesson for market managers to tighten supervision.

"Hopefully there are more traders in any market exposed to the corona virus," said Zulkarnain.

He also explained that Batam City is a city where every day there is always a market.

"So the market in Batam is always open every day from dawn to night, according to the type of market," said Zulkarnain.

He said there was a possibility that the corona virus would spread in the market.

"So we also urge traders, if they feel unwell, to take a break, to market managers to prepare health protocol standards.

One of them is checking body temperature for all traders and also buyers who come, "said Zulkarnain.

Zulkarnain said that Disperindag could not close the market in Batam City, even though there were traders who were exposed to the Corona virus.

"So things go awry, if our market closes where do people buy their food supplies.

So we ask for the synergy of traders, buyers and also market managers, "said Zulkarnain.
