TRIBUNBATAM.id, BATAM  The increase in new cases of the coronavirus or Covid-19 in Riau Islands (Kepri) is increasingly frightening.

In fact, the spread of these cases is considered sporadic or the clusters are no longer detected.

Spokesperson for the Kepri Covid-19 Task Force Team who is also the Ad-interim of the Riau Islands Health Service, Tjetjep Yudiana said the increase in cases was spread in Batam and a number of other cities and districts.

Currently, positive cases of corona in Riau Islands have reached 1,053 cases.

"We can only hope that the people of Riau Islands can comply with and implement health protocols," said Tjetjep when contacted, Wednesday (2/9/2020).

Tjetjep was worried that if this was not quickly realized by the community, it could have a negative impact on Riau Islands.

Because, the Covid-19 case in Riau Islands so far is clear where the source of transmission is.

However, currently it has entered the local transmission stage and the cluster occurs randomly.

Tjetjep said, apart from Batam, an increase in the number of cases also occurred in Tanjungpinang and Bintan.

UPDATE: Its been 6 Months, Covid-19 Cases in Indonesia Reached 180,646

In Batam, currently it has reached 690 cases.

Then, in Tanjungpinang 174 cases; Bintan 61 cases; Karimun District 31 cases; and Lingga Regency 1 case.

Under these conditions, Kepri is obliged to tighten health protocols.

Supervision of community activities must also be monitored and supervised.

Moreover, according to Tjetjep, in the era of adapting to new normal, many business actors open freely without heeding health protocols.
