TRIBUNBATAM.id - Chairman of the Indonesian Red Cross (PMI), Jusuf Kalla said the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government needs to provide firmness and sanctions to discipline the public in monitoring large-scale social restrictions (PSBB) in Jakarta.
This needs to be done so that the implementation of the PSBB in Jakarta shows the expected results.
"PSBB is very dependent on community discipline and discipline depends on firmness and sanctions from the government. Therefore, the government must be firm and impose sanctions on anyone who violates the discipline," said Jusuf Kalla in a written statement, Thursday (17/9/2020).
Previously, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government had established a PSBB which began on September 14, 2020 and will run for the next two weeks.
According to the Governor of DKI Jakarta, Anies Baswedan, the reason for the implementation of the total PSBB was again due to an increase in positive cases of Covid-19 during the first 12 days in September 2020.
"We feel the need to tighten so that the movement of additional cases in Jakarta can be controlled," said Anies.
The application of the PSBB refers to the Governor Regulation Number 88 of 2020 regarding the amendments to the Governor Regulation Number 33 of 2020 concerning PSBB.
Governor Regulation Number 88 of 2020 was issued on September 13, 2020.
Anies hopes that the tightening PSBB can control the addition of Covid-19 cases in the capital.
"If it is not controlled, the economic, socio-cultural impact will be enormous," said Anies. (*)
