TRIBUNBATAM.id -  Epidemiologist from the University of Indonesia (UI), Tri Yunis Miko Wahyono, argued that there were two keys for Indonesia to control Covid-19.

First, increase the number of Covid-19 tests, especially in areas where the number of tests is still low.

"Do as many tests as possible," said Miko to Kompas.com, Friday (18/9/2020).

Second, the government must immediately carry out isolation if it finds positive cases of Covid-19

In addition, the government will carry out good quarantine on every suspect until it is declared negative for Covid-19.

"Anyway, the speed to isolate and quarantine the suspect, then that is the key. The success is there. If there aren't many tests, it won't work," he said.

Previously, Miko assessed that the Covid-19 testing conducted by the government was not evenly distributed.

This is related to the increasing number of regions experiencing an increase in daily Covid-19 cases above 100 cases in a day.

Miko also advised the government to increase testing to be able to detect Covid-19.

Because, according to him, testing is one of the keys to controlling Covid-19 in Indonesia.

Based on data from the Covid-19 Handling Task Force, on Friday (18/9/2020), there were 10 provinces that experienced more than 100 daily cases of Covid-19 in a day.

The 10 provinces are DKI Jakarta with 1,028 cases, East Java 527 cases, West Java 288 cases.

Then, Riau 195 cases, Central Java 420 cases, East Kalimantan 167 cases, Aceh 160 cases, Riau Islands 286 cases, West Papua 122 cases, and Bali 199 cases.

Overall, as of this Friday, there were 3,891 new cases of Covid-19 in the last 24 hours.

This has resulted in the total number of Covid-19 cases in Indonesia reaching 236,519 people to this day. (*)
