TRIBUNBATAM.id, BATAM - As many as 130 employees at two companies in the Mukakuning industrial area, Batam, were exposed to Covid-19.
The two companies have been confirmed, namely PT Philips and PT Infineon. At PT Philips, there are 67 employees who tested positive for Corona, while at PT Infineon, 63 employees.
Seeing this, the Batam City Health Department had previously recommended lockdowns for the two companies whose employees were exposed to Covid-19.
"I have sent a recommendation for the two universities to be temporarily lockeddown," said Head of Batam City Health Department, Didi Kusmarjadi, Tuesday (22/9/2020).
Meanwhile, the Mayor of Batam, Muhammad Rudi, when met at Hotel Sahid Batam Center, stated that he had summoned the company to discuss the best solution that could be implemented.
• September Promo in Batam, From 3Second, Planet Surf and Matahari
• Thousands of Medical Workers Positive of Covid-19, and Hundreds of them Died during the Pandemic
Rudi's policy in this case is far from the discourse of a temporary lockdown that had previously been echoed.
Instead of a lockdown, the government has actually provided solutions to carry out rapid tests to all company employees whose environments are exposed to Covid-19.
According to him, the rapid test efforts so far have been good enough in the tracing process.
If the employee concerned gets non-reactive results, then it is declared safe from Covid-19, meanwhile, if the results are reactive, it will be followed up with a swab test. (Tribunbatam.id/Hening Sekar Utami)
