ATB will Hand Over 107 Thousand Customer Water Connections Before The End of The Concession

TRIBUNBATAM.id, BATAM - The fate of water management in Batam ahead of the ATB concession has become increasingly polemic.
President Director of PT Adhya Tirta Batam (ATB), Benny Andrianto Antonius said, ATB will return 107 thousand water connections along with a number of old assets that don't belong to ATB before the concession ends.
As is known, PT ATB managed clean water in Batam for 25 years since 1995 and ended on November 14, 2020.
In the initial agreement, according to Benny, BP Batam only gave PT ATB the task of managing and serving 107 thousand customer water connections in Batam City.
Over time, with various expansions carried out by PT ATB, the water connection has increased to approximately 295 thousand.
According to him, there are a number of obligations that must be paid by BP Batam if new assets belonging to PT ATB are also handed over to the new manager, along with 188 thousand other water connections.

"Moreover, the 188 thousand are still PT ATB customers," said Benny, Sunday (9/27/2020).
If the settlement of rights and obligations for the transfer of new assets hasn't been carried out, Benny will propose another alternative solution, namely water management can be divided into two.
Of the six Water Treatment Plants (WTP) in Batam City, five of them can be directly transferred and managed by PT Moya Indonesia as the winner of the water management tender during the concession transition ends.
