TRIBUNBATAM.id, BATAM - Towards the end of the concession on 14th November 2020, the polemic of transferring rights and assets to water management in Batam has surfaced.
This polemic involves PT. Adhya Tirta Batam (ATB) as water management operator and Batam Concession Agency (BP).
Many parties are concerned that the polemic will have an impact on clean water services for Batam residents.
As said by Deputy Chairman II of Batam DPRD, Ruslan Ali Wasyim, Sunday (27/9/2020).
"Do not disrupt the service or reduce the quality of service to the community," said Ruslan regarding the polemic regarding the transfer of assets to Tribun Batam.
Ruslan's fear was reasoned. At the Hearing Meeting (RDP) related to water management that was held last Friday, September 25, 2020, Ruslan said that ATB had shown pessimism.

He said, ATB is pessimistic about the operator switching later because there are several crucial things that have not been resolved.
"This is also what we warn BP Batam. There should be no downtime for services and disrupting the investment climate in Batam," he added.
Because, continued Ruslan, water is a basic need and must be realized properly to all components of society.
Until the concession ends, his party also asks ATB to remain consistent in serving the needs and maintaining the stability of water distribution to the community.
"Like it or not, the potential for disruption tends to be large. This concerns consumer protection," he explained again.
This, too, according to Ruslan, is very basic. This is because there is no guarantee if the polemic of asset transfer itself will not cause conflict in the future.
Until now, there has been no guarantee or guarantee that polemics will not arise in the future.
Previously, several assets belonging to ATB began to be moved to their warehouse in the Seipancur area, Batam City.
