TRIBUNBATAM.id - The Ad-interim Mayor of Batam, Syamsul Bahrum admitted that until now there was still no information about the type of Covid-19 vaccine. According to him, vaccines can be in the form of fluids that are injected into the body, in the form of pills, or others.

For this reason, the team will develop a mechanism by considering the types of vaccines that are likely to be distributed in 2021. 

According to Syamsul, the implementation of the Covid-19 vaccine could use the election mechanism. The first thing, of course there must be funds, there must be a supervisory officer, an implementation officer, as well as a location for the vaccine operation itself. 

"So, to make things easier, vaccination will use this method, with the hope that all Batam residents get the vaccine without exception," he said.

Not only that, the safety of the vaccinators must also be prepared. They must be equipped with personal protective equipment (PPE) in the form of hazmat suits while on duty.

This of course also needs to be calculated. 

Separately, the spokesman for the Batam City Covid-19 Handling Team, Azril Apriansyah, admitted that the Batam City Government was getting ready to distribute the Covid-19 vaccine. So, when the vaccine is ready, his party is already prepared in terms of human resources and capabilities.

"We are already prepared because our population isn't small. So it takes a lot of manpower, human resources and equipment. We are already getting ready," he said. 

While waiting for the availability of vaccines from the central government, Batam is no longer just preparing but already taking action. However, it is ready for distribution. (*)
