UPDATE of Coronavirus Cases: Increasing 4,792, Covid-19 in Indonesia Reaches 488,310

TRIBUNBATAM.id -  The Covid-19 pandemic in Indonesia has been going on for more than eight months. However, until now there has been no sign that the transmission of this outbreak has decreased.

Government data shows that until Friday (20/11/2020), there are still additional patients, which causes the number of Covid-19 cases to continue to grow.

Based on data as of Friday, 12.00 WIB, there were an additional 4,792 new cases of Covid-19 in the last 24 hours.

The addition has caused the total number of Covid-19 cases now reach 488,310 people, starting from the announcement of the first patient on March 2, 2020. 

This information was conveyed by the Covid-19 Handling Task Force through data received by journalists on Friday afternoon.

Data can also be accessed by the public via the Covid19.go.id and Kemkes.go.id sites.

In a day, there were an additional 3,940 Covid-19 patients who recovered after being deemed no longer infected with the coronavirus.

They were declared recovered based on examination with the polymerase chain reaction (PCR) method which showed negative results for the coronavirus.

Thus, the total number of recovered Covid-19 patients now reached 410,552 since the beginning of the pandemic. 

Covid-19 cases have been recorded in all provinces in Indonesia, from Aceh to Papua. 

In detail, there are 505 districts / cities from 34 provinces that recorded patients due to coronavirus transmission. 

It means that more than 98 percent of the area in Indonesia has been affected by the Covid-19 disease. (*)
