Amid the Pandemic, Bintan Exports Processed Coconut to Bangladesh, India and Germany

TRIBUNBATAM.id - The export of processed coconut products in the form of Low Fat Dessicated Coconut (LFDC) or coconut flour to Bangladesh is the first export from Bintan Regency, Riau Islands (Kepri) to the country.

The Tanjung Uban Wilker Agricultural Quarantine Officer has carried out an inspection and certification of the commodity, which departed from Bandar Sri Udana Lobam Port. 

Tanjungpinang Agricultural Quarantine noted that in January 2020 there was no LFDC export carried out by PT BOF. 

Meanwhile, in January 2021, LFDC exports had taken place four times with a total of 81 tonnes with one new export destination country, Bangladesh, which departed on January 13, 2020 with a volume of 18 tonnes.

Then India twice with a volume of 45 tons, the other country is Germany with a volume of 18 tons. 

Quarantine as economic tools guarantees the acceptability of each exported agricultural commodity with health and safety guarantees. 

Every agricultural commodity that is certified must pass a series of checks, from documents to health, to ensure it is free from OPTK and meets the requirements demanded by the destination country. 

In accordance with the hopes of the Minister of Agriculture, Syahrul Yasin Limpo, that Indonesia must be able to increase exports by three times, so all resources must be mobilized to achieve it, increase production and processed agricultural commodities will be even better because it will increase economic value and create jobs.
