Riau Islands Weather Info: BMKG Predicts Light Rain, Careful of 2.5 Meter Waves, Sunday, March 14
The Hang Nadim Batam Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Department (BMKG) issued a weather forecast.
The weather in the Riau Islands region on Sunday, (14/3/2021) is predicted to be generally cloudy and has the potential for light to moderate rain in the morning and afternoon.
"Due to the high humidity in the Riau Islands, the potential for the formation of rain clouds will increase," said Forecaster On Duty, Addini, Saturday (13/3/2021).
BMKG also issued early warnings of high sea waves in several areas.
The northern waters of Anambas, sea waves are estimated to reach 2.0 meters. In the North Natuna waters it reaches 2.5 meters.
"Users of sea transportation or people who are active in these waters are advised to remain vigilant and careful," he said.
Wind speeds in the Riau Islands region are estimated to range from 5 kilometers per hour to 35 kilometers per hour.
