Batam-Bintan Bridge with a Toll Road Standard, Riau Islands Economy will Improve

The Deputy Regent of Bintan, Roby Kurniawan, is optimistic that the Riau Islands economy will increase, especially in the Batam-Bintan area.

TRIBUNBATAM.id - The Deputy Regent of Bintan, Roby Kurniawan, is optimistic that the Riau Islands (Kepri) economy will increase, especially in the Batam-Bintan area.

This is together with the presence of the Batam-Bintan Bridge which is included in the national strategic project.

Roby Kurniawan accompanied the Minister of National Development Planning (PPN) or the Head of the Indonesian National Development Planning Agency, Suharso Monoarfa while checking the site of the Batam-Bintan Bridge in Bintan, Friday (4/23/2021). 

At that time, the Governor of Riau Islands, Ansar Ahmad, and a number of other related parties also participated. 

The Riau Islands Provincial Government is optimistic that the construction of the Batam-Bintan Bridge will soon be built and will have a positive impact on the economy of the Riau Islands

Meanwhile, from the technical data for the construction of the Batam-Bintan Bridge installed at the event location, this project is estimated to cost Rp. 13.12 trillion.

With a bridge width of 33 meters, specifically the toll road standard plus the lane for two-wheeled vehicles.

The special bridge consists of 2 bridges, namely Batam-Tanjung Sauh and Tanjung Sauh-Bintan. 

The portion of the financing, from the Batam-Tanjung Sauh connecting bridge, is financed by the government. Meanwhile, Tanjung Sauh – Bintan will be built by investors through an auction process.

The length of the bridge from Batam to Tanjung Sauh is about 2,124 meters and Tanjung Sauh to Bintan is 5,561 meters. So the total length is about 7,685 meters. 

As for the land side / road length:

1. Batam Island is 1,640 long (Km).

2. Tanjung Sauh Island 3,350 length (Km).

3. Bintan Island 2,074 length (Km).

Total: 7,064 length (Km).

Thus, the total length of the bridge and road is 14,749 km.
