TRIBUNBATAM.id - Spokesperson for the Covid-19 Handling Task Force, Wiku Adisasmito, revealed that there was an increase in the number of red zone areas or a high risk of Covid-19.

In addition, areas that enter the orange zone or the moderate risk of the coronavirus also increase.

"It is very unfortunate that this week there is another red zone and an orange zone, which we should always strive to reduce the spread of Covid-19," Wiku said in a press conference broadcast by the Presidential Secretariat YouTube, Tuesday (27/4/2021).

"On the other hand, there is a decline in the yellow zone, while in the green zone the numbers are still constant," he said.

April 25, 2021 data shows that the red zone has increased from 6 regencies/cities to 19 regencies/cities.

Meanwhile, the orange zone increased from 322 regencies/cities to 340 regencies/cities.

Wiku revealed that the increase in the red zone was contributed by 14 districts/cities that moved from the orange zone to the red zone.

The majority of regencies / cities are from the provinces of Aceh, West Sumatra, Riau, Jambi, North Sumatra, South Sumatra, Bangka Belitung Islands, Bali and South Kalimantan.

Meanwhile, the increase in the orange zone was contributed by 53 districts / cities that moved from the yellow zone.

"These 53 regencies / cities are dominated by regencies/cities from North Sumatra, namely 12 regencies/cities that have moved to the orange zone, then Aceh as many as 8 districts/cities, and Southeast Sulawesi as many as 6 regencies and cities," explained Wiku.

With this increase, Wiku asked governors, regents and mayors in all regions in Indonesia to improve the handling of Covid-19 in their respective regions.

He said that the handling of the pandemic could be improved by optimizing the regional Covid-19 handling posts.

Wiku hopes that the risk of Covid-19 transmission in all regions can be handled properly, especially ahead of the Eid holiday. (*)
