TRIBUNBATAM.id, BINTAN - The ship collision incident occurred in Lagoi Waters, Bintan, Riau Islands, Friday (7/5/2021) in the morning. 

This accident involved two 'giant' MV Sinar Solo ships that carrying containers with the MV Taho Australia

"The collision resulted in damage to the hull of the ship," said Head of PLP Tanjunguban Base, Capt. Handry Sulfian. 

Capt. Handry Sulfian continued, information related to the two ship accidents in Lagoi waters was received from VTS Batam. 

Following up on this incident, PPLP Tanjunguban deployed the KN Rantos - P 210 ship to check the crash site. 

"In this incident there were no casualties. Only the right hull of the MV Sinar Solo was damaged," he explained. 

Handry added that his party was still collecting information from the ship regarding the chronology of the collision. 

Furthermore, Handry explained that the MV Taho Australia, which departed from Singapore, has now returned to sail for China.

Meanwhile, the MV Sinar Solo ship was still anchored not far from the crash site. 

"The KN Rantos ship is still at the scene of the incident to secure the location of the collision so as not to disturb other shipping," he concluded.
