UPDATE May 18: Covid-19 Cases in Indonesia Now 1.748.230, Add 4.185

TRIBUNBATAM.id - The Covid-19 cases in Indonesia has never decreased.

This can be seen from the increasing daily cases of Covid-19, the death rate, and the number of patients being treated in hospitals. 

Data from the Covid-19 Handling Task Force until Tuesday (18/5/2021) at 12.00 WIB showed that there were an additional 4,185 new cases of Covid-19 in the last 24 hours. 

The addition has caused the total Covid-19 cases in Indonesia to currently reach 1,748,230 people. 

This information was conveyed by the Covid-19 Handling Task Force to reporters on Tuesday afternoon. 

The same data shows that there are additional patients recovering due to Covid-19. In the last 24 hours, the number has increased to 5,628 people.  

Thus, the number of Covid-19 patients who have recovered in Indonesia to date has reached 1,612,239 people. 

However, the number of patients who died after being exposed to Covid-19 also continues to grow. In the period 17-18 May 2021, 172 Covid-19 patients died. 

Thus, the death rate due to Covid-19 reached 48,477 people since the beginning of the pandemic.

From this data, there are currently 87,514 active cases of Covid-19. 

Active cases are patients who are still confirmed positive for the coronavirus, and are undergoing treatment in hospitals or independent isolation. (*)
