In 6 Days, 28 Earthquakes Occurred in NTT

TRIBUNBATAM.id - In a span of six days, from June 4-10, 2021, 28 earthquakes were recorded in the East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) region.

This information was conveyed by the Head of Kupang Class I Geophysics Station, Margiono, to Kompas.com in Kupang, Friday (6/11/2021) afternoon.

Margiono said that of the 28 earthquakes, only one was felt in NTT and its surroundings. 

Meanwhile, most of them were dominated by small earthquakes below magnitude 4, which were 22 earthquakes. 

"There are six earthquakes above magnitude 4. But not up to magnitude 5," said Margiono. 

He continued, the earthquake with a shallow depth of less than 60 kilometers occurred 17 times.

The highest earthquake activity, said Margiono, occurred on June 7, 2021, with 8 earthquakes. 

On the same date, an earthquake with a magnitude of 4.5 occurred with a depth of 10 kilometers with an epicenter 69 kilometers northeast, Labuan Bajo, West Manggarai Regency. 

The earthquake was also felt in the Ruteng area, Manggarai II MMI Regency.
