TRIBUNBATAM.id, YOGYAKARTA - Mount Merapi again releases the hot clouds of avalanches on Tuesday (08/10/2021) night, at 20.27 WIB. The sliding distance of hot avalanches is 2,500 meters to the southwest. 

"Hot avalanches on Mount Merapi on August 10, 2021 at 20:27 WIB," said Head of the Geological Disaster Technology Research and Development Center (BPPTKG), Hanik Humaida in a written report, Tuesday (10/08/2021). 

Based on BPPTKG data, hot clouds of avalanches were recorded on a seismogram with an amplitude of 55 mm. The duration of the hot cloud avalanche was recorded at 157 seconds. 

"The glide distance is 2,500 meters to the southwest," she said. 

Meanwhile, from reports on the activity of Mount Merapi for the observation period at 12.00 noon - 6.00 pm, white smoke from the crater was observed with a thin to moderate intensity and height of up to 100 m above the crater peak.

The seismicity at Mount Merapi for avalanches was 115 with an amplitude of 4 mm-41 mm and a duration of 21 seconds-142 seconds. 

4 blows with an amplitude of 3 mm-5 mm and a duration of 13.6 seconds-22.2 seconds.

Hybrid/Multiple Phase 16 with an amplitude of 3 mm-26 mm, S-P 0.3 seconds-0.6 seconds and a duration of 6.1 seconds-12.8 seconds. 3 Shallow Volcanoes with an amplitude of 30 mm-53 mm and a duration of 10 seconds-15.2 seconds.

BPPTKG is still setting the activity of Mount Merapi at Alert status (level III). (*)
