This closure is enforced in accordance with the Instruction of the Ministry of Home Affairs (Imendagri) Number 66 and the Circular Letter (SE) of the Governor of Bali Number 20 of 2021, as conveyed by Denpasar Police Chief Kombes Pol Jansen Avitus Panjaitan.
In the Circular, an appeal was made to the public as well as tourists to celebrate the 2022 New Year as much as possible by avoiding crowds.
Visitors are required to comply with health protocols and comply with other regulations, such as not setting off fireworks.
Street vendors are also prohibited from selling fireworks and other types of firecrackers.
Roads along Kuta Beach will also be closed for vehicles ahead of the turn of the year.
This policy is in accordance with the Circular which states that parades, carnivals, processions, celebration parties, and other New Year's celebration activities are not allowed.
So, visitors who want to celebrate the new year at Kuta Beach, they can only enter by foot before 23.00 WITA.
The Bali Police Chief will deploy 1,146 personnel for security in the Denpasar Police jurisdiction. Among them are Denpasar City and Badung Regency in the south.
