Bali Airport Records 56 Percent Increase in Passengers at Christmas and New Year 2022
Bali's I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport recorded a jump in airplane passengers of up to 56 percent in the Christmas 2021 and New Year 2022 (Na
General Manager of PT Angkasa Pura I (Persero) I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport, Herry A Y Sikado revealed, the highest flow of departing and arriving passengers occurred on December 19, 2021, which was 28,975 passengers.
"Meanwhile, at the end of the Nataru period, the return flow occurred on January 2, 2022 with the movement of passengers as many as 24,731 people," he said at the closing of the Nataru transportation post at I Gusti Ngurah Airport, Wednesday (1/5).
On the occasion, he also appreciated all relevant stakeholders who carried out their respective functions and roles in the smooth, safe and secure flight operations according to procedures at Bali Airport.
Moreover, the implementation of the Nataru transportation was carried out when the world was facing the COVID-19 pandemic which had not yet fully recovered, accompanied by the emergence of a new variant of Omicron.
During the Nataru period, 3,299 aircraft movements were recorded.
In fact, in the same period last year, aircraft movements reached 3,515.
"This achievement is a contribution from the entire airport community.
I am optimistic that the level of visits this year will increase, therefore, I ask for cooperation and synergy to be able to continue to improve good service," he explained.
