Bali Airport Experiences 98 Percent Passenger Growth in October 2021

TRIBUNBATAM.id, DENPASAR - Bali's I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport experienced passenger growth of 98 percent.

Aircraft movement also grew by 81 percent during October 2021.

General Manager of PT Angkasa Pura I (Persero) I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport, Herry A.Y. Sikado said the records were data on air transport traffic coming and going.

Citing a press statement, Thursday (11/4/2021), compared to September and October, the number of passengers in October was 464,390 people, while in September it was only 234,939. 

For aircraft movements, Herry noted, there were 3,697 movements throughout October.

For the previous month, there were only 2,040 aircraft movements. 

According to him, the positive growth of passengers and planes in October was the most trending achievement throughout 2021. 

Throughout October, there were three routes of origin that were most in demand, namely Jakarta with 136,529 passengers, Surabaya with 29,973 passengers, and Ujung Pandang with 16,173 passengers. 

For the destination route, Jakarta has the most passengers, namely 132,367 passengers.

Meanwhile, Surabaya only had 29,426 passengers and Ujung Pandang 14,175 passengers. 

In maintaining the health protocol, it is carried out in collaboration with the Port Health Office (KKP) and airlines. 

That way, all prospective passengers are required to go through a digital health document check before flying. 

This is done to determine whether the results of the Covid-19 test are eligible to fly or not.
