Government Prepares Bundling Packages for Mandalika MotoGP Spectators

TRIBUNBATAM.id - The government and the organizers of the 2022 Mandalika MotoGP are preparing a bundling scheme for spectators who attended to watch this event live. 

Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, Sandiaga Uno said, the Mandalika MotoGP was held collaboratively and involved various parties, such as the central and regional governments, the Indonesia Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC) and the Mandalika Grand Prix Association (MGPA), as well as private parties. 

The bundling scheme is likely to include tickets to watch MotoGP, accommodation, and transportation to and from The Mandalika. 

The accommodations provided are five-star hotels, homestays owned by local people, and residences in tourist villages in Lombok.

"The preparation for this bundling scheme is also based on the very high interest of racing lovers in Indonesia to watch this world's number one motorsport event," said Sandiaga in a virtual Weekly Press Briefing.

Sandiaga hopes that this bundling scheme will make tourists more interested and make it easier for them when they decide to watch the MotoGP event live.

All parties involved will also map the distribution of accommodation in West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), including ensuring the occupancy rate to anticipate the surge in the need for hotel rooms, homestays, and sarhunta.

The additional accommodation options prepared include the provision of floating hotels in collaboration with PELNI, cruise ship operators, and LoB/phinisi operators, as well as proper use of housing around Mandalika and training centers belonging to ministries and institutions.

Camping ground will also be prepared as part of the collaboration with operators from Eiger and BoboBox.

In the meantime, the camping ground is planned to be built in the western and eastern zones of Mandalika, the concept of which is currently being finalized by the local government.

Sandiaga ensured that all preparations went according to plan.
