TRIBUNBATAM.id - The Managing Director of the Mandalika Grand Prix Association (MGPA), Priandhi Satria, said that there was no weather modification during the 2022 MotoGP test at the Mandalika Circuit.

"For the three days of the 2022 MotoGP pre-season test this time we did not use weather modification technology. So we let the weather be natural," said Priandhi in front of the Media Center Indonesia Mandalika Circuit, Saturday (2/12/2022).

According to Priandhi, all the 2022 MotoGP pre-season test contestants want to experience the natural conditions at Mandalika.

The goal is that they know the situation and get the expected experimental results.

"Everything goes normally and we hope this test can run without problems. The racers want natural weather so they can adjust or get the best motorbike settings from various conditions," he said.

"With this natural weather they can get various data. They can measure the best motorcycle settings if the track is dry with a certain temperature or other conditions," said Priandhi.

Reflecting on the two days of pre-season testing at the Mandalika Circuit, in the morning, the weather tends to be cloudy, then turns hot in the afternoon with strong winds, then returns to normal in the afternoon.

Based on observations from the Mandalika Circuit Royal Box, the 2022 MotoGP mechanics routinely check the air temperature on the asphalt.

They then adjust the temperature to the engine and tire settings.

Priandhi said that the Mandalika Circuit, which was crossed by many racers, made the aerodynamics of the tires even more sticky. Therefore the record time in one lap in the pre-season test continues to increase.

The third or final day of the test at the Mandalika Circuit will take place today, Sunday (2/13/2022).

The 2022 MotoGP event at the Mandalika Circuit will take place on March 18-20.
