Introducing Tanjung Setia Beach in Lampung, Home of the World Surf League Krui Pro 2022

TRIBUNBATAM.id - Tanjung Setia Beach on the West Coast, Lampung, will host the World Surf League (WSL) Krui Pro 2022 event.

The waves themselves are one of the best surfing spots in the world.

This information was conveyed by the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy (Menparekraf) Sandiaga Uno when opening the Krui Pro 2022 International Surfing League (WSL) Championship at Tanjung Setia Beach, Saturday (6/11). 

The Enchantment of Tanjung Setia Beach, Lampung

Tanjung Setia Beach is about 273 km or 6-7 hours drive from the provincial capital Bandar Lampung, to be precise in Tanjung Setia Village, Pesisir Selatan District, Pesisir Barat.

Tanjung Setia Beach is located right in the path of the Indian Ocean's large current with large, constant waves of interest, quoted from the Pesisir Barat Regency Government website, Sunday.

Tanjung Setia Beach is famous for its good and challenging waves, making it suitable for surfing.

During the peak surfing season from June to August, the waves at this beach have a height ranging from 6-7 meters, and have very long waves reaching 200 meters.

In addition to challenging waves, this soft white sandy beach that stretches from coast to coast and sunset views offers its own interesting attractions. 

The beautiful palm trees provide epic views and a relaxing atmosphere for the visitors who come.

If using public transportation, visitors can take the Krui Putra bus from Rajabasa Terminal in Bandar Lampung which passes through Trans Sumatra, and stops directly at Tanjung Setia Beach. 

WSL Krui Pro Championship 2022

Sandiaga explained, the Krui Pro World Surf League (WSL) will take place on 11-17 June 2022, and will be attended by participants from various countries around the world.

There are 250 surfers from 17 countries who have registered, namely Australia, Japan, Brazil, Italy, South Africa, Portugal, Philippines, New Zealand, Peru, China, South Korea, Thailand, Sweden, England, United States, South Korea, and Indonesia. 

12 of them are local surf athletes from Pesisir Barat, Lampung, who received wild cards.

"I would like to welcome the participants of Krui Pro 2022. Welcome to Krui Pro 2022. Enjoy the beauty of Tanjung Setia Beach," said Sandiaga.

Furthermore, he added, that the enthusiasm of the WSL Pro 2022 participants was expected to be a tourism promotion event for the Pesisir Barat Regency.
