TRIBUNBATAM.id - Covid-19 vaccines and boosters are no longer important for tourists or world tourists.
There are now more countries and territories that welcome every traveler, especially from the United States (US), without any restrictions.
According to Kayak.com, 118 countries or territories have opened their borders to US tourists, although 109 of them still require Covid-19 testing, quarantine, or both for unvaccinated travelers, while 17 others still do not allow US tourists.
This is a welcome move for the global tourism economy, which has been hit hard by the coronavirus. This is also good news for those waiting for signs of the end of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Infectious disease epidemiologist from Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, David Dowdy, said the easing of restrictions was an acknowledgment that we are in a new phase of this pandemic, where things are likely to be more stable.
Apart from China, the Philippines and Indonesia are now the only major tourist markets in the world whose borders are completely closed to unvaccinated travelers, except for reasons of age or health-related exceptions.

Changes in the policies of countries in the world are relatively related to stabilization in the death rate, although there was a spike in Covid-19 infections due to the Omicron subvariant.
Having been vaccinated, of course this is the safest and easiest way to travel around the world.
Some countries do not even require testing or quarantine as long as arriving tourists have been vaccinated and have Covid-19 boosters.
One of the impacts of easing restrictions is that people are very eager to travel, including abroad.
Nearly two-thirds of Americans plan to travel over the next three months.
