TRIBUNBATAM.id - Garuda Indonesia airline is working on opening a new Denpasar-Manado-Narita (Japan) route in the near future.
Even so, the main director of Garuda Indonesia, Irfan Setiaputra, did not say exactly when this route would operate.
"In the near future, we will open Denpasar-Manado-Narita flights," Irfan told Kompas.com at the 2023 ASTINDO Travel Fair at ICE BSD, Tangerang, Friday (24/2).
This means that planes flying from Denpasar will stop first at Manado before flying to Narita, Japan. Vice versa.
That way, the opportunities for foreign tourists to travel to Indonesia will be greater because planes stop at domestic destinations on international flights.
Irfan also mentioned Garuda Indonesia's priority to bring more foreign tourists to Indonesia, rather than bringing domestic tourists abroad.
"We will focus more on bringing foreign tourists to Indonesia, rather than bringing Indonesians abroad," he added.

One of them is by prioritizing the opening of domestic routes and adding flights to Denpasar, Bali.
So, if in the future there are indeed additional aircraft fleets and requests for opening routes, Irfan confirmed, Garuda Indonesia will prioritize adding frequencies to domestic destinations.
