TRIBUNBATAM.id - A few days ago, parts of Sumatra and Kalimantan had been rained with rain. This is certainly a happy thing for residents who lives in there, as well as a new hope.
The falling rain in a number of regions of Indonesia can at least slightly reduce the haze and exposure to poor air quality due to forest and land fires.
The good news is, the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Department (BMKG) announced that it has detected significant changes in atmospheric conditions since Saturday (9/21/2019).
Reporting from the official page of BMKG, the changes in atmospheric conditions was the form of a weakening of the dry air mass pressure from the southern region of Indonesia.
The mass of wet air previously tended to be in the north of Indonesia, but because of this phenomenon, it now spread to the southern part of Indonesia.
"When viewed on a broader scale, low pressure areas in the Teluk Benggala have a significant influence on changes in wind patterns in Indonesian territory," said the Deputy Chief of Meteorology, Drs R Mulyono R Prabowo M.Sc.

Since September 21, 2019, wind patterns in the territory of Indonesia are no longer dominated from the southeast to the south but rather from the east.
It is predicted that on September 23, 2019 the low pressure area in the Teluk Benggala will strengthen.
Changes in the atmosphere occur because of the meeting and the slowing down of wind speed (convergence) and this will result in increased growth potential of the rain clouds.
Most of the region is predicted to experience such of convergence extending from the islands of Kalimantan and Sumatra, such as in East Kalimantan, Central Kalimantan, West Kalimantan, Kepri, Riau, Jambi and Bangka Belitung.
BMKG predicts that in the comin' week, heavy rains will potentially occur in some areas as follows:
Period of 23-26 September 2019
- Aceh
- North Sumatra
- West Sumatra Riau
- Kepri
- Jambi
- Bengkulu
