TRIBUNBATAM.id - Circulation of illegal cosmetic tools in Batam City is quite worrying for its users.

Kepri Drug and Food Control Agency (BPOM) together with Commission I of Batam City Regional House of Representatives (DPRD) to secure illegal cosmetics, some time ago. The total value is IDR 2 billion.

Based on information, from the prosecution successfully secured 112 illegal cosmetic items with 238280 pieces cosmetics.

Cosmetic circulation mode is carried out by selling online in several e-commerce sites, and targeting their markets throughout Indonesia.

This circulation mode has shifted from normal.

It used to still be conventional, but now it uses online marketing.

This was revealed by Head of BPOM Yosef Dwi Irawan, Friday (11/01/2019) at BPOM Kepri office in Nongsa District, Batam City.

"Mode of cosmetics circulation that we secure is done online and not conventionally," Yosef said.

When confirmed, what use social media such as Facebook, Instagram for marketing, Yosef said that until now it had only discovered using e-commerce.

"For Instagram, Facebook or other social media we have not found sales through that, but while we find using e-commerce alone," said Yosef.

When securing the cosmetic item, there are only employees at location of the action.

"When security is at the location, only employees who do not know the owner of illegal or responsible goods," said Yosef.

He said, the mode of perpetrators or owners for illegal goods are using a network breakdown system.

Where the workers never know the owner of the goods.

"The owner of the goods uses disconnected network mode, the employees in the location have only been working for 1 to 2 months and they only know when there is an order to do packing and shipping," said Yosef.
