TRIBUNBATAM.id, BATAM - Batam mayor candidates, Rian Ernest, was spotted joining in the midst of PT TDK Electronics Indonesia's employee recruitment held at the Pacific Hotel, Batam, Saturday (4/1/2020) afternoon.
He was seen sitting with several job applicants at Pacific Foudcourt, in order to gather information from job applicants who were present in the recruitment.
"I see an extraordinary spirit of struggle from friends who are applying for work in Batam. All young people from various regions are not only from Batam. Some from Medan, some from Padang and so on came to Batam to look for a better livelihood," he said.

Rian revealed that the last 4 years the rate of economic development in Batam was getting worse. Many investments run abroad so now it is difficult to find employment.
Rian said that Batam should be able to provide better opportunities for jobseekers by bringing in more investors to Batam.
"We must be able to provide better jobs. If we can bring investment back to Batam and we will also facilitate investment so that jobs will be created," he said.
Finally, the Former Expert Staff of the Governor of DKI Jakarta hopes that in the future there will be more vacancies in Batam City. (*)
