TRIBUNBATAM.id, BATAM - Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) released an early warning of high waves in Riau Islands waters and called on residents to be more vigilant.
Especially for those who often carry out activities at sea such as fishermen and users of small sea transportation.
"We urge residents who are active at sea to be aware of ocean waves that can reach 3.0 meters in Natuna Waters and 2.5 meters in Anambas Islands Regency waters," said Prakirawan Rizky F. Widowati, Monday (4/27) / 2020).
He explained that this happened because of high waves caused by the wind curve pattern which was supported by high humidity.
In addition, there is an accumulation of air mass due to slowing wind speeds around Riau Islands region, thereby increasing opportunities for the formation of rain clouds.
"In general, today's weather conditions are forecast to be cloudy and have the potential to rain with mild - moderate intensity which can be accompanied by lightning and strong winds," he said.
