KPK Visits Batam Gapensi Office, What's Going on?

TRIBUNBATAM.id - Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) private sector corruption prevention task force, Aris Arhan, came to the Batam National Construction Entrepreneurs Association (Gapensi) office.

The location is in Komplek Graha Kadin Batamkota. The purpose of their arrival is to promote the prevention of corruption from the private sector. 

"This Gapensi relates to goods and services. We hope that businesses in the construction sector can hold procurement of goods and services transparently, fairly, without nepotism and so on," he said, Wednesday (11/20/2019).

He continued that in the private sector in general, the procurement of goods and services is very vulnerable to bribery and gratification. 

"Because, this business actor immediately feels his hand user. This is what we want to live in the future, so that the Riau Islands Province, especially Batam Gapensi can be a role model for other Gapensis in Indonesia later," he explained. 

Based on KPK statistical data, it turns out that many private parties are involved in corruption.

"Therefore, we introduce the KPK program, which is professional vitability, or abbreviated as provit to the Gapensi Batam. We build collaboration with the business world with regulators to prevent corruption," he said.

From the meeting, business people who are members of the Gapensi Batam provide input to the KPK and will be submitted to the local government, which areas should and can be improved.

So that the possibility of corruption is very minimal. 

While Secretary of the Batam Gapensi Branch Board, Sahaya Simbolon from a meeting with KPK representatives said, there were many technical matters in the field that he could discuss and convey.

Sahaya admitted that in the field of construction business, some were good or fair and some were not.

He hopes the KPK can convey to the institution so that the unfair construction business sector can be improved.
