105 Universities in Indonesia Involved in KMI EXPO 2019 at Politeknik Campus Batam

TRIBUNBATAM.id, BATAM - The Indonesian government continues to support the growth and development of entrepreneurship, especially among students.

This is in line with the strategic policy direction of the Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education (Kemenristekdikti).

One of them is an increase in students for entrepreneurial activities. This aims to increase the economy in Indonesia. 

As explained by the Director of the Politeknik Negeri Batam, Priyono Eko Sanyoto, when delivering a speech in the agenda of the Indonesian Student Entrepreneurship Expo (KMI) at the Politeknik Negeri Batam, Friday (11/22/2019) night.

"It is a challenge for all of us to be able to use. Especially in Batam City, we still need a startup industry that can provide support for the development of other industries," he said. 

In addition, this event is also an opportunity for the Student Activity Unit (UKM) to be able to become a partner for the City of Batam in preparing itself to become a tax free area.

Because, as many as 1200 participants from all campuses in Indonesia took part in the agenda with the theme 'Collaboration X'.

"We are ready to facilitate new startups to become industrial partners in Batam," he continued.

This is in line with the delivery of the Directorate General of Learning and Student Affairs (Ditjen Belmawa) Kemenristekdikti, Ismunandar.

For him, this national-scale agenda is one of the most important things in opening up new jobs for every student in the future. 

He also said, if entrepreneurship becomes very important if it is accompanied by the seriousness and commitment of each group. Especially today, many young entrepreneurs have succeeded and helped to improve the surrounding economy.

It is known, the agenda of Indonesian Student Entrepreneurship (KMI) this time aims to increase the skills and abilities of every student in Indonesia.

By gathering together, it is hoped that the creation of creative ideas and innovations of each student can work towards one goal in order to build the best economy for Indonesia, especially Batam as the host.

The Indonesian Student Entrepreneurship Expo (KMI) itself will take place until November 24, 2019. With the participation of 105 tertiary institutions throughout Indonesia, a total of 1,200 participants have graced every tenant given various interesting and innovative works from each campus. 

A series of events were also carried out in KMI Expo activities such as Professional Launching, KMI Awards including the best entrepreneurs and the best tenants, entrepreneurial talk shows from startup practitioners, Polibatam Fair, to dance creations and musical poetry.
