Today, President Joko Widodo Inaugurates the Longest Flyover Toll Road in Indonesia
President Joko Widodo will inaugurate the Jakarta-Cikampek Flyover Toll Road today, Thursday (12/12/2019).
TRIBUNBATAM.id - President Joko Widodo will inaugurate the Jakarta-Cikampek Flyover Toll Road today, Thursday (12/12/2019). The toll road will later be opened to support the flow of traffic during the 2019 Christmas holidays and 2020 New Year.
"Mr. President (Jokowi) wants to inaugurate it on December 12, 2019," said Minister of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR), Basuki Hadimuljono in his written statement, Wednesday (11/12/2019).
After being inaugurated, said Basuki, the toll road will only be opened to the public about 2-3 days later.
Basuki added, the Jakarta-Cikampek Flyover Toll Road was built with many challenges because it is the longest overpass in Indonesia.
"200,000 heavy traffic per day, so it requires high caution. The time of work (window times) is only from 10 pm to 5 am. Saturday-Sunday, and Lebaran, holidays. Plus, there are two other projects simultaneously namely "the train is fast and LRT, so it requires a lot of coordination, and almost every week a meeting is held," said Basuki.
Meanwhile President Director of PT Jasa Marga Cikampek Layang Street (JJC), Djoko Dwijono hopes that the opening of the elevated toll road can reduce congestion on the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road by up to 30 percent.
"Private class I vehicles are expected to be able to move upward, thereby reducing the density on the underpass," he said.
Djoko said that the flyover toll road is equipped with 8 emergency access lanes that are connected to each interchange on the existing lane.
"The goal is that when there is an emergency there can be immediately evacuation access through an interchange equipped with stairs down. The eight points are at KM 13, 17, 21, 24, 28, 31, 36 and 38," he said.
The Jakarta-Cikampek Flyover Toll Road is located right in part of the existing Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road, stretching from the Cikunir section to West Karawang (Sta 9 + 500 to Sta 47 + 500).
Short-distance vehicles will use the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road, while long-distance vehicles, especially class I and II, use the Jakarta-Cikampek Flyover. (*)
