TRIBUNBATAM.id - The weather in Riau Islands Province (Kepri) has the potential of rain to strong winds.
This was conveyed by Forecaster on duty of Meteorology Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG), Meteorology Station Class I Hang Nadim Batam, Fitri Annisa.
"Weather conditions are forecast to be cloudy, and have the opportunity to rain with mild to moderate intensity that can be accompanied by lightning to strong winds," she said, Sunday (02/09/2020).
She conveyed, the growth of rain clouds around Riau Islands region looks quite significant.
"Because there is a cyclone vortex area around the southern waters of Natuna which causes a buildup of air masses," she said.
For temperatures ranging from 23 to 32 degrees Celsius, with wind speeds of 5 to 40 kilometers per hour, and 60 to 98 percent humidity.

Meanwhile, wave height potential is found in Natuna and Anambas waters.
Natuna reaches 4 meters, Anambas 3.5 meters.
"The waters of Pinang and Bintan are 2 meters, Lingga 1.2 meters, Batam and Karimun 0.8 meters," he said.
BMKG also gives an appeal to sea transportation, and marine activities.
"It is urged to be on guard against high waves in Natuna, Anambas and Bintan waters, as well as strong winds throughout Riau Islands region," she appealed. (Tribunbatam.id/endrakaputra)
