TRIBUNBATAM.id - Forest fires in Tanjung Pinggir, Sekupang, Batam, Monday (2/3/2020) and still not extinguished perfectly, until the next day, Tuesday (3/3/2020).

Difficult to Put Out

The fire that burned down the forest in Tanjung Pinggir Batam was difficult to extinguish because firefighters experienced some difficulties in taming Red Rooster, among them the hilly forest contour and the valley and the strong wind.

Damaged 25 hectares of land

The fire quickly spread and caused around 25 hectares of forest in Tanjung Pinggir Batam to catch fire.

Ash Spreads to Population Areas

Forest fires in Tanjung Pinggir not only triggered smoke that disturbed breathing but also caused ash to spread to surrounding residents.

However, officers continued to extinguish the fire during forest fire.

Barlian said, after receiving a report from public last Monday at around 13:00 WIB.

"After the report is received, we immediately overcome it with other fire personnel.

Barlian revealed, the blackout process was completed on Monday night.

But on Tuesday morning, BP Batam's Fire Danger Personnel (PBK) personnel returned to cooling efforts for minimize the possibility of new fires and burning embers.

Deploy 5 Firefighter Car Units

As for the equipment deployed by BP Batam to overcome the forest fires, there were 2 units of Duriangkang firefighter, 1 Sagulung firefighter, 1 Telaga Punggur firefighter and 1 Batu Ampar firefighter.

The fire management process was also assisted by Batam City Fire Department, Riau Islands Regional Police, Barelang Police, to Manggala Agni VIII Batam by deploying their respective blackout fleets.

Monitor Fires

Barlian added, currently all personnel have been withdrawn from fire location because the cooling process has been carried out.

But it continues to monitor when new hotspots emerge.

"We continue to coordinate with other firefighter partners, such as Batam Government and police.
