TRIBUNBATAM.id - PT Pelayaran Nasional Indonesia (Pelni) conducts body temperature checking for all passengers who will travel by ship. This is done to prevent the spread of the Corona virus.

Passenger health checks are not only carried out when passengers will board the ship, but are also carried out while inside the terminal. This is according to the prevailing health examination procedures. 

All Pelni ships have been equipped with polyclinics that can be visited by passengers for 24 hours. In addition to a body check, the company also sprayed disinfectants on all its ships shortly before or after the ship sailed.

Pelni also applies social distancing for passengers by adjusting the distance between passengers as far as one meter. In addition, Pelni also provides hand sanitizers at strategic locations for passengers, provides masks, and provides advice on health through loudspeakers every three hours.

"We will make all the efforts. Of course we ask for cooperation from all parties to continue to increase vigilance so as to minimize the potential for the spread of Covid-19". said Head of Secretariat of PT Pelni, Yahya Kuncoro through his written statement on Saturday (3/21/2020)

His party has also educated all Pelni employees to Ship Crews (ABK) through socialization activities related to the handling and management of Covid-19 and has been equipped with tools to support this.

"The aspects of health, safety and comfort of passengers are our top priority. So in this critical condition, we continue to play an active role in improving passenger health surveillance," he said. (*)
