Number of Passengers Unrestricted, What are the Requirements If will Board the Ship?

TRIBUNBATAM.id - The Directorate General of Sea Transportation of the Ministry of Transportation (Dirjen Hubla Kemenhub) does not limit the number of ship passengers. 

This is stated in Circular Number (SE) 12 of 2020. 

Through the Circular, the Ministry of Transportation only asked ship operators to maintain distance for their passengers. 

"In essence, this Circular Letter no longer regulates who can go, but anyone can go by Ship," said Director General of Sea Transportation of the Ministry of Transportation Agus Purnomo, in a virtual press conference in Jakarta, Tuesday (06/09/2020). 

So, what are the requirements provided by the Ministry of Transportation for prospective passengers to be able to use ships? 

In SE Number 12 of 2020, the Ministry of Transportation emphasized that each passenger is responsible for their own health. 

"By implementing a health protocol that includes, keep a distance, wear a mask, and wash hands, and submit to and comply with the applicable terms and conditions," reads point 3.a of the SE. 

Prospective passengers are required to bring their identity and free Covid-19 certificate. 

For the results of the polymerase chain reaction or PCR test, the validity period is 7 days, while the rapid test results are only valid for 3 days.

For areas that do not have a PCR or rapid test, prospective passengers must have a Covid-19 symptom-free certificate such as influenza, issued by hospitals, Public health center, or doctors. 

Then, for passengers who come from abroad, it is required to conduct a PCR test upon arrival at the port.

While waiting for the test results, the passenger is required to carry out an independent quarantine, either at a place that has been provided by the government or a hotel that has been certified with Covid-19 accommodation.

Finally, each passenger must download and activate the Care Protect application, which can be accessed via the Appstore or Playstore. 

"This Circular can at any time be amended and amended in accordance with the epidemiological study of Covid-19 from the competent authority," reads point 7 of SE Number 11 of 2020. *
